Why this film exists
Episode one shows a man wrapping his parked car like a hostage negotiation. It plays as a joke, and it films like one — but the behavior is real. In several of the world’s wealthiest capitals, owning something beautiful now comes with a second job: protecting it.
Our research covered nineteen countries, five documented problems each. In the safety chapter the pattern repeats: tens of thousands of knife offenses a year in one capital; luxury watches snatched in daylight so routinely that many owners wear replicas; entire private-security industries larger than the police force they replace. Wealth does not remove the fear. It concentrates it.
The UAE sits at the other end of the same tables: top-three global safety rankings, streets where nine in ten residents say they feel safe walking alone at night, and a simple, unglamorous fact — what is yours stays where you parked it. Luxury is not luxury if you cannot enjoy it. Here, you can.
